Scoring in Business

BEE is not about getting a good BEE score; it's about corporate strategy and risk management. The very nature of broad-based BEE mitigates against the superficial approach of just obtaining a "respectable score". Organisations must balance the business risk of doing nothing with the cost and effort of the transformation that results from Broad-based BEE.

There are some 35 Industry specific BEE Charters in the pipeline which is an indication that there is a general acceptance across industry that BEE transformation will be good for South Africa and good for business over the 10 years that this initiative will run.
